    About

The Miss West Oahu/Miss Mauna Ka'ala Scholarship Program is a preliminary to Miss Hawaii and Miss America. This scholarship Program follows the four points of the Miss America Crown that symbolizes these attributes: "Style, Service, Scholarship and Success" which has been the credo of the Miss America Organization since the 1920's.  With "Service" and outreach we are able to make a significanct change within the community we live in as well as creating an harmonious balance within our society.  With "Scholarship" we cultivate and broaden our horizons in achieving our academic goals.  We find "Success" by making a positive impact in the lives of the people we encounter by inspiring them to quench their thirst for knowledge and seek to improve their own life and the lives of others, all the while doing it with "Style" and grace.

The Miss West Oahu/Miss Mauna Ka'ala Scholarship Program, will host a group of astounding young women from the Westside of Oahu and throughout the State of Hawaii, ranging between 17-24 years of age. In addition each of the young women realizes the significance and awareness of our community and extends their support by volunteering their time to charitable organizations, that each have chosen as their platform and will continue to champion and support.  The Miss West Oahu and Miss Mauna Ka'ala Scholarship Program also supports the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children's Hospital—"Children’s Miracle Network". Which raises money to provide medical care, life-saving research and preventative education for the injured and critically ill children who receives care at Kapiolani Hospital, 100% of the funds raised will remain here in Hawaii to assist our keiki’s regardless of their ability to pay for services provided.

In this Era and its age of perplexities with social media, and the pressures of life itself, many of our youths are left with a sense of detachment and conflict, within their own social environment.  This leaves them to constantly encounter the adversities and obstacles that lays before them, yet it is through this program that enables our young women to grow within themselves to make a lasting and positive impression on her peers and those around her.  To seek to improve the community she lives in and the social enviornment that surrounds her.  To be a leader that inspires and aspire to achieve greater success in all she pursues.
